Ford Is Introducing An ST Trim Package For The Fiesta’s Final Year

Ford Fiesta fans will get a parting gift before Ford Motor Company ceases production of its favorite supermini. The 2019 Fiesta line will be getting an ST trim package that mimics the look of Fiesta ST performance model without the performance features.

This is an option that provides the aesthetic frills of the Ford Fiesta ST to those who aren’t particularly concerned with the vehicle’s actual performance. It will feature the honeycomb grille, an ST spoiler and a black roof that gives the vehicle the sporty, race-ready feel of the Fiesta ST.

It will also come with 16-inch wheels and ST badging, as well as red interior stitching, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and embroidered ST logos on the seats.

The new trim package won’t provide the 197 horsepower 1.6L EcoBoost engine that comes standard on the Fiesta hot hatch.  Instead, buyers get a 1.6L base four-cylinder engine that can produce 120 horsepower and 112 lb.-ft. of torque.

The Ford Fiesta ST line will come in both manual and automatic transmission when it hits lots in the coming months. Five-speed manual transmission will be standard, with a six-speed option available to an extra $1,095. It is expected to cost around $18,500.

The new Fiesta trim package will likely also be used as a barometer to gauge how well customers are receptive to a new ST line as Ford considers whether to roll out similar ST-style vehicles in the future.

For now, Fiesta fans can enjoy one last offering from Ford before the Ford Fiesta makes its final exit from Ford’s portfolio.
