All Electric F-150 Prototype Tows Over 1 Million Pounds!

Ford is America’s truck leader. It’s been that way for over 42 years. American’s absolutely love the F-150. On July 23, Ford celebrated that heritage with a special look at a little something they’ve been working on behind the scenes.

Several F-150 owners gathered at the rail yards with 10 double decker freight cars and 42 F-150s. The drivers all talked about what their F-150s mean to them, and each of them demonstrated just how versatile and important their Ford is.

After a short while Chief Engineer of the F-150 Linda Zhang greeted the guys. They didn’t know what to expect.

Zhang let them know that this special prototype Ford F-150 is about to tow all the freight cars. None of them seemed too confident, but then she revealed one last surprise: it’s electric.

The owners appeared flabbergasted. There was some doubt that this truck could do something that none before it had, but regardless they strapped the freight cars to the truck and started tugging.

Zhang was confident as the electric F-150 pulled the train with ease.

Ford has confirmed it will bring an all-electric F-150 to market, and that it will be in addition to the all-new F-150 Hybrid that goes on sale next year. This video is proof that the electrified models will have the toughness, capability, and innovation that F-150 customers expect.

This thing is definitely Built Ford Tough. Check out the video here!
